Split inland fees from the free coast
Gorges and Skywalk: inland day vehicle fee (verify live). Coastal lookouts: generally no pass. Skywalk is not a second ticket. Never buy fees through this site.

Unhitch the van · fill water in town
Caravans and trailers are banned on inland gorge roads. There is no drinking water in the park. 1 L per person per hour on gorge walks (official).

Default first day: Skywalk + Window-only. Loop only if cool, early and watered — closed after 7 am Nov–Mar. Coast is the heat and van-friendly plan.

hardThe signature Kalbarri walk. A short Class 3 path leads to Nature’s Window — the sandstone arch framing the Murchison River. The full 9 km Loop continues along cliff edges, then into the gorge on rocky and sandy ground with little shade. Official: gorge temperatures can reach 50 °C; the Loop is closed after 7 am from November to March inclusive.

Skywalk
easyTwin cantilever platforms (Kaju Yatka) about 100 m above the Murchison gorge. Covered by the inland park day pass — no separate Skywalk ticket. Same inland gorge road and caravan unhitch rule as Nature’s Window. Confirm operating hours on Explore Parks WA; hours have varied.

Z-Bend Lookout
easyExplore Parks WA: the Z-Bend lookout overhangs a sharp bend in the Murchison River and is reached via a walk of about 600 m from the parking area. Same inland entry station and day pass as the Loop. Heat, unfenced edges and variable reception still apply.

Inland icons day: Skywalk + Nature’s Window
Early inland drive, pay the gorge day fee, Kalbarri Skywalk then Nature’s Window (turn back at the arch). Optional Z-Bend lookout if energy remains. No Loop unless the group is cool, early and honest.
Half to full day south of Kalbarri town
Coastal cliffs day: Natural Bridge & lookouts
Generally free coastal strip: Natural Bridge, Island Rock, Red Bluff, Eagle Gorge, optional Bigurda sections. Wave surge is the rule. Not a substitute for Nature’s Window — a different park.
One serious gorge morning + recovery
Loop-focus morning
Early-start Loop with a clear turnaround at Nature’s Window. Skip Skywalk photos first. Recover in town afterwards. Nov–Mar: on trail before 7 am or don’t start.

Do I need to pay park entry for Kalbarri?
Inland gorges (Nature’s Window, Loop, Skywalk, Z-Bend, Hawk’s Head, Ross Graham, Meanarra) use standard WA vehicle entry — published rates checked 2026-08-13: standard vehicle $17 / concession $10; large vehicle charged per person. Coastal cliff sites south of town are generally free. Skywalk has no separate ticket. Check current fees on Explore Parks WA. We don’t sell park entry.
Can I camp inside Kalbarri National Park?
No casual camping — it is a day-use park. Sleep in Kalbarri town, at Lucky Bay (outside the NP, first-come, cash, 08 9937 1140) or on private stations. Registered overnight gorge hiking is a tightly controlled exception, not a family camp.
What should I do first?
Most first visits: Kalbarri Skywalk plus Nature’s Window (turn back at the arch). Save the 9 km Loop for a cool, early start with plenty of water. Natural Bridge on the coast is a good afternoon or hot-day option, and is generally free.
Is the Loop closed in summer?
Official: the Loop Trail is closed after 7 am from November to March inclusive because gorge temperatures can reach 50 °C. Start before 7 am or do Window / lookouts only. Verify alerts the morning you go.
Is the pink lake in the National Park?
No. Hutt Lagoon is a nearby regional attraction, not a Kalbarri National Park site. Nature’s Window and the Skywalk are the park icons.
