Where to stay near Kalbarri

Prioritise Kalbarri town for gorge and coast days. There is no casual camping inside the National Park. Lucky Bay (outside the NP) and private stations are the bush options — official / neutral links only.

Choose a base by intent

Beds are not interchangeable wallpaper. Match the town to the cool inland morning — then search commercial rooms. There is no casual camping inside the National Park.

Families

Kalbarri town: water, food, van unhitch, Skywalk + Window as the inland product. Do not pick Northampton to “save a night” if kids need a 7 am gorge start.

Early Loop / Skywalk mornings

Town proximity wins. Unhitch here. Nov–Mar Loop starts before 7 am only work from a Kalbarri bed, not from Geraldton.

Overflow / flights

Northampton is a transit bed on the drive. Geraldton is the regional airport and hospital-scale services — arrival or departure, not a dawn Window base. Lucky Bay is outside the NP; [VERIFY] cash and live conditions.

No camping in Kalbarri National Park

Day-use only. The registered multi-day gorge walk is a tightly controlled exception (rangers 08 9937 1140), not a family campground. Lucky Bay sits outside the NP — first-come, cash, limited reception; [VERIFY] live conditions. This site does not affiliate official camping.

Secondary inland town on the Geraldton–Kalbarri drive. Useful as a transit bed, not a dawn Loop base.
