How to get there

1. Same inland sealed road and entry station as Nature’s Window / the Loop. Pay or display a valid inland park pass.
2. Caravans and trailers are not permitted on inland gorge roads — unhitch in Kalbarri town.
3. No separate Skywalk ticket. If a tour or social post implies a second fee, verify on Explore Parks WA.
4. No dogs. No drinking water in the park — fill bottles in town.
5. Screenshot hours and alerts in town. Reception is better than the gorge floor, still not guaranteed.

How to do it (step by step)

1. Check live hours and any temporary closure on Explore Parks WA / alerts. Visitor Centre notes have mentioned selected-date or limited hours in the past — [VERIFY] the morning you go.
2. Walk the signed paths to both platforms. You don’t need a hard walk to get the view.
3. Stay behind barriers. The platforms are built for visitors; the surrounding cliffs are not. Supervise children.
4. Combine with Nature’s Window the same morning if energy and parking allow. Don’t add the full Loop after a long Skywalk photo session in rising heat.
5. If heat is already ugly, stop here and switch to town or the coast. That is still a complete inland visit.

What the Skywalk is — and is not

Kaju Yatka is a pair of built lookouts about 100 m above the Murchison gorge. It is the busy inland stop for people who do not want — or should not do — the Loop. It is not a ride, not a separate paid attraction, and not a substitute for official alerts.

Park entry for the inland gorges covers it. Coastal cliff sites south of town are a different fee system — usually free, no park pass. Don’t treat them as one “Kalbarri ticket.”

Hours, access and pairing

Confirm opening hours on the official Skywalk page the morning you go. Past visitor-centre notes have described limited hours on some dates — treat any remembered “always open” claim as stale.

A strong first inland morning is Skywalk plus Nature’s Window, then lunch in town or a coastal afternoon. The full Loop is a different day for most groups.

Crowds and time of day

School holidays and August–October wildflower season fill the carpark. Early morning is calmer and cooler. Midday is the loudest stretch for photos and the worst stretch for adding the Loop.

If bays are full, do not invent parking on vegetation. Come back later or switch to Meanarra Hill or the coast.

What to pair (and what not to)

Strong pairs: Nature’s Window (turn back at the arch), then town or coastal boardwalks. Meanarra Hill if you still want an inland lookout without stairs.

Weak pairs: a long Skywalk photo session plus the 9 km Loop in rising heat. One icon done well beats two rushed stops.
